Galicia

Galicia is a region located in the northwest of Spain that has its own culture and language and has a great relationship with Ireland. The story goes that Breogán was a powerful king of the lineage of the Celts who ruled in Brigantia, on whose coast he had a tower or lighthouse rebuilt and bears his name. Breogán's son, Mil, climbed to the top of the Tower one autumn afternoon and from there he thought he glimpsed the shadow of one of the distant lands: Ireland. He organized an expedition in order to carry out the conquest of this land and its colonization. This is how the Celtic culture of Galicia arrived in Ireland, with which they still have great parallels today. In fact, scientific studies have demonstrated the DNA relationship that unites the Irish and Galicians, thus confirming the union between both peoples not only on a geographical, climatic or customs level, but also on a physical level.
